What's in the Toolkit?

16 Categories of Selection Grid Tools

Purpose-built tools for sizing, nudging, transforming, shaping, reorganizing, and navigating your current selection.

Less Rebuilding. More Programming.

Many Selection Grid operations are possible manually; they just take time.

Selection Grid Toolkit turns repetitive grid work into fast, repeatable actions while keeping you in control of the selection you're already working with.

Use the tools directly on the Selection Grid in Setup. Out of Setup, they work with the currently selected fixtures.

BEFORE

Manual selection changes, grid rebuilding, repositioning, repeated commands, and sore shoulders.

AFTER

Select fixtures → Run the tool → Happy programming

Executor Modes

No need to build out pages of executors just for the Toolkit. Choose the tools you want available and switch modes based on the console or workflow in front of you.

Four Console-Optimized Executor Modes provide quick access to tools on fixed executors. Three modes each offer 16 executor positions at different console locations, including the X-Keys. The fourth mode combines all three locations for up to 48 available executor positions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Selection Grid Toolkit?

Selection Grid Toolkit is a collection of purpose-built tools for grandMA3 designed to make working with the Selection Grid faster, easier, and more flexible.

Who is this Toolkit for?

Anyone who regularly uses the Selection Grid in grandMA3. It’s built with programmers, operators, and designers in mind. Especially those who want to spend less time manually arranging selections and more time programming.

Does it work in Setup mode?

Yes. Use the tools directly in the Selection Grid in Setup or simply select fixtures while programming and run the same tools. No need to enter Setup.

Does it replace the native Selection Grid?

No. It builds on it. The goal is to extend the Selection Grid with additional ways to create, manipulate, and organize selections while keeping the workflow familiar.

Do I need to learn a completely new workflow?

No. The tools are intentionally designed around familiar grandMA3 selection and Selection Grid workflows. Each tool handles a specific task without forcing you into an entirely new way of programming.

Will the Selection Grid Toolkit continue to be updated?

That’s the plan. I use these tools in my own programming workflow, and I intend to continue refining them as grandMA3 evolves and as the toolkit gets used in more real-world situations.

What if I find a bug or something doesn't behave as expected?

Please tell me. User feedback is extremely valuable, especially as the toolkit gets into more show files and programming environments. If something isn't working correctly, I want to know about it.

Can I suggest a feature or new tool?

Absolutely. Selection Grid Toolkit grew out of solving practical programming problems in the first place. I can't promise every request will make it in, but useful ideas and workflow improvements are always welcome.
